Each bird displays distinct hand-painted feathering, outlined with tubelined trailing: one in vibrant shades of cobalt and cerulean blue, another in burnt orange and warm lemon yellow, and the third in leafy green tones with an amber breast. The background features pale yellow blossom clusters and delicate lime green tubelined leafy stems over a warm cream slip. A gentle wash of sage green anchors the lower foot, while the interior is finished with a smooth, uniform celadon glaze running neatly to the inner rim. Produced in 2000 at Dennis China Works in Somerset, the pattern was created by former Moorcroft art director Sally Tuffin. Her bold, naturalistic ceramic designs frequently celebrated British wildlife, exotic birds, and botanical subjects, translated into high-fired earthenware using traditional slip-trailing and hand-painting methods. The underside carries a full complement of painted and impressed workshop marks. These include the Dennis China Works backstamp, Sally Tuffin's designer credit 'S.T. DES', decorator and potter initials, the limited edition numbering 61/100, the production date, and the workshop inscription 'Cit!'. Standing 13 cm in height, the vase has an ovoid profile tapering to an unglazed base rim, offering a compact display piece from a limited edition run. See less
