Thick, rounded lobes radiate outwards from a shallow central well, each segment defined by soft external fluting and smooth, molten contours that create a tactile, undulating rim. The glass incorporates dense suspensions of sparkling gold dust, a classic Venetian decorative method often referred to as polveri d'oro. Encased directly within the transparent gathers during hot working, the fine metallic flakes catch and refract natural light across the polished, glossy surface. This shimmering layer contrasts handsomely against the subtle aquatic tint running through the glass matrix. Produced around the 1950s, this dish is attributed to the celebrated furnace of Archimede Seguso in Murano, Venice. The glasshouse created a wide variety of small botanical and marine-inspired table objects during the post-war period, renowned for pairing heavy sculptural forms with internal aventurine and gold leaf particles rather than external enamelling. The underside reveals the solid gathered base where the hot glass was shaped, terminating in smooth, rounded tooling without a sharp pontil scar. Measuring 8 cm across at its widest point, the dish carries no etched signature or remaining paper workshop label, which is standard for small mid-century Murano decorative wares. with its shallow, cupped profile, it functions conveniently as a ring dish, trinket tray or standalone cabinet piece.
