The Trip to Mexico is an original drawing in pen on paper, realized in 1947 by Russian scenographer Eugène Berman, Monogrammed and dated at the bottom: E.B. In good condition except for some repaired piece on the lower margin. The artwork represents the scenery of people resting seated from their back through strong strokes in a well-balanced composition. Eugène Berman (Saint Petersburg, 1899 – Rome, 1972) was a Russian painter and theater and opera scenographer. His work earned the name of ''Neo-Romantic'' for the melancholy and the introspective features. Berman might have taken inspiration from Pablo Picasso's artworks, especially from the Blue Period paintings. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
