Elegant vintage 1960s Dutch silverplate tea caddy manufactured by the renowned silversmith firm Herman Hooijkaas of Schoonhoven, Netherlands, for the historic Dutch coffee and tea company Douwe Egberts.
The cylindrical vessel features an exceptionally detailed repoussé-style pastoral scene depicting a horse-drawn carriage and figures in a picturesque countryside setting. Richly textured relief work contrasts beautifully with polished silverplate borders, while the ornate domed lid is crowned with a sculptural ball finial.
A beautiful example of traditional Dutch decorative metalwork, equally suited for use as a tea caddy, keepsake box, or distinctive decorative accent.
