Antique plate from Royal Staffordshire (England) in the “Blue Onion” pattern.
“Blue Onion” is a variation of “Blue Willow” and other “Blue and White” that became extremely popular in earlier centuries. This iconic variation features a white background with cobalt stylized Eastern motifs, including asters, peonies, and pomegranates (which Europeans often mistook for onions).
Condition: This antique plate is in good antique condition with quite a bit of crazing and some darkening. I have priced accordingly, but please review the photos carefully. Marked on the back with the Royal Staffordshire logo and registration number that suggests a production date in the early 1900’s.
