The curved crest rail is painted with classical warriors and mounted horsemen in gold. The three shaped ladder-back splats carry vignettes of swans, a tree, and a garden pavilion, and the stiles are decorated with gilt anthemion and floral motifs. Sweeping saber-style arms, turned and gilt-banded front legs with painted block detail, and a turned stretcher base add period character. The chair retains its handwoven seagrass seat in a herringbone pattern, topped with a custom loose seat cushion in sunny yellow with black welting and a zigzag-edged skirt.
