Slender trunks rise through layered canopies of olive, chartreuse, and amber against a softly frosted ground. Deep aubergine glass surrounds the gently flared mouth and anchors the tapered base, framing the lighter landscape between.

The nature-inspired decoration recalls the French Art Nouveau cameo glass tradition associated with Émile Gallé. Raised trees and foliage contrast with the recessed background, giving the landscape depth and texture. The maker remains unidentified; a small scratched mark on the underside appears to be numerical.

Light brings a particularly beautiful dimension to this piece. In ordinary daylight, the darker outlines define the trees, while transmitted light illuminates the amber and yellow-green layers. Its elongated silhouette allows the woodland scene to unfold around the body.
