An exceptional circa 1960s Danish Modern two-piece teak storage cabinet and enclosed bookcase designed by master architect Børge Mogensen for Søborg Møbler, Denmark. Acquired directly from the original owner's estate and freshly restored to excellent refinished condition.
A quintessential example of Mogensen's functionalist philosophy—rooted in his training under Kaare Klint—this modular two-part cabinet balances quiet architectural restraint with extraordinary Danish joinery. The exterior showcases richly figured, book-matched teak veneers bordered by solid teak mitered trim, exposed brass pin hinges, and Mogensen's signature carved solid-teak recessed rectangular pulls.
Opening the twin sets of doors reveals a warm, light-toned hardwood interior engineered for tailored storage: the upper cabinet houses five height-adjustable shelves, while the deeper lower cabinet houses one full-width adjustable shelf on a recessed plinth base. The two sections rest securely together or can be utilized independently.
