Expertly crafted in the United States during the late 20th century, these chairs showcase high-quality solid mahogany frames with an exquisite warm finish. They have been resprayed with mahogany stain to cast a even tone throughout the chairs surface due to wear over time. They have a beautifully shaped serpentine top rail anchored by a finely carved center shell/fan motif. The back splat is highly detailed, intricate pierced vasiform splat with elegant scrollwork. The base has sturdy straight square front legs reinforced with a traditional H-shaped stretcher base for lasting structural integrity; and lastly the seating has generously cushioned slip seats upholstered in a timeless, neutral geometric cream/ivory patterned fabric that seamlessly complements traditional, transitional, or eclectic interiors. I found these chairs from an antique store and repair and refurbishing was required as they had been used in a parlor regularly. I am so pleased with the ourcome of these two chippendale chairs. They are sold as a pair. See less
