A complete three-piece sauce tureen set by John Ridgway of Hanley, Staffordshire, in the “Smyrna” pattern on his Imperial Stone body. The set includes the tureen, its fitted lid, and the matching underliner tray. The Imari-style decoration combines cobalt blue scrolls, rust-red blossoms, and lavender accents, with hand-applied gilding throughout.

The tureen stands on four scroll-molded feet and has two acanthus handles. The lid has a ladle notch and a gilded bud finial. The base is marked with the printed “IMPERIAL STONE” mark beneath the Royal Coat of Arms, along with the hand-painted pattern number 7648. It would look right on a buffet, mantel, or entry console, in traditional or grandmillennial rooms.
