Repeated diamond-shaped designs extend across the front, lid and sides, while scalloped corner ornaments enriched with fine crosshatched detailing create the appearance of decorative metal mounts.

The rectangular chest is fitted with a shaped central lock plate and hinged hasp, together with carrying handles on both sides. A hinged lid opens to reveal a spacious black-finished interior suitable for storing blankets, linens, books or other household objects. An interior retaining strap supports the lid when open.

The contrast between the dark lacquer and warm metallic tones gives the chest a strong graphic presence. Its compact, low proportions allow it to function as decorative storage beneath a console, at the foot of a small bed or as a distinctive accent piece in a layered interior.

The chest is offered as found and as is, with substantial wear and losses that contribute to its timeworn appearance but should be carefully reviewed before purchase. See less
