An intricate network of fine crackling extends across the interior and exterior surfaces, giving the otherwise restrained vessel considerable visual texture.

The capacious body rises from a wide oval foot and terminates in a thick, gently rolled rim. Applied loop handles curve upward at either end, their slightly warmer coloration introducing subtle variation within the celadon palette. The interior is fully glazed and shaped with a raised oval reserve at the center of the basin.

Traditionally conceived as a footbath, this generously proportioned vessel could now serve as a decorative centerpiece, cachepot or low planter. Its quiet color, simple profile and luminous crackle glaze allow it to complement Asian Modern, traditional or contemporary interiors.

Another closely related example is currently available and listed separately. Differences in glaze and surface details distinguish the two pieces. See less
