Description

Offered is an exceptionally rare, matching pair of commercial-scale Art Deco skyscraper lamp shades, manufactured by the renowned Consolidated Glass Company in the late 1920s to early 1930s. This is the highly coveted "Modernizer" design (Commercial Line No. 9022), featuring a majestic four-tiered, stepped geometric silhouette beautifully accented by molded floral relief panels running down the sides.
Standing at a massive 22.5 inches tall, this was the absolute largest size produced in this iconic line. Originally intended for grand commercial spaces like 1930s banks, department stores, or hotel lobbies, surviving pairs of this immense scale are incredibly difficult to find.
Crafted from thick, substantial vintage milk glass, these shades emit a stunning, warm architectural glow when illuminated. Condition:

Very good antique condition. The milk glass is bright, clean, and free of any deep structural cracks or permanent clouding. One shade features a prominent, original factory mold line / shear mark on the top stepped tier (inherent to the 1930s manufacturing process and smooth to the touch, not a crack). The top fitter rim that mounts against the ceiling canopy has one small chip and expected light roughness from original set-screw contact. This minor wear is entirely standard for authentic period glass and is completely hidden from view once the shade is mounted into a metal fixture. See less
