The use of a gold-toned background enhances the sense of depth and luxury, making it a striking decorative piece. The composition captures the quiet elegance and storytelling typical of classical Japanese art. Signed and sealed by artist. Silk on this byobu changes colors from light gold to aged brass, as it is shown on the first four images. Gouache, watercolor and ink on silk over paper. Silk brocade border, lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners. Paper and original label on back. Vintage metal hangers are included (image #17). Kyoto, Japan, Showa Era, circa 1960-1970s.

Nearly Excellent condition - no damage to the painting, minor age wear overall, some age wear to the frame, two small not noticeable repairs on back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
