Its sculptural … Read more A vintage 1950s Danish lounge chair with a softly flared back, gently rolled arms, and tapered teak legs. Its sculptural silhouette and inviting proportions are characteristic of mid century Scandinavian design. We recently had the chair reupholstered, choosing a combination of warm rust-colored velvet and a soft, textured patterned fabric for the back and arms. We wanted to give the chair a fresh character while respecting its original form, creating something a little more expressive that could stand on its own as a focal point in a room. The contrast between the smooth velvet seat and the raised, almost chenille-like pattern adds depth and warmth, while the earthy palette keeps the overall look grounded. A distinctive piece that brings together the charm of vintage Scandinavian furniture with a more individual approach to upholstery.
