Handcrafted Eastlake settle bench with hidden storage under the seat, made from an antique 3/4 bed crafted in Connecticut around 1890. The bed's headboard became the high back and the footboard became the storage-box front, preserving the original period carving: incised floral vine work, carved rosette medallions, fluted stiles, and X-carved post tops.
Built almost entirely from period materials, including period-correct fasteners — the only non-period element is the bottom panel of the storage box. Warm natural finish.
Please note the seat height: 14.5" — lower than a modern bench (typically 17–18"), true to its bed-frame origins. Seat depth 15". Storage interior measures 40"W x 14" front-to-back x 10" deep. Overall depth of 18.5" includes the armrest protrusions.
