A simply fabulous find! Sixteen pieces of vintage Portieux Vallerysthal French opaline stemware in luminous creamy white—eight wine glasses and eight coupes—creating a dramatic service.
The two coordinating forms share the same sculptural stem, with its distinctive rounded knop and softly flared foot. The wine glasses have tall, gently rounded bowls, while the coupes have wide, shallow bowls that give the set a particularly elegant silhouette. Together, they’re striking on the table and versatile for cocktails, wine, Champagne, dessert—or whatever you decide deserves a beautiful glass.
The opaque white opaline has a lovely warmth and glow, with the subtle variations characteristic of vintage glass. A complete coordinating group of sixteen is an especially rare find—and makes an instant statement on a dinner or cocktail table.
Portieux Vallerysthal has a long and fascinating history in French glassmaking. The Portieux glassworks traces its origins to the early 18th century in the Vosges, while Vallerysthal began glass production in Lorraine in 1836. The two historic glassworks were later joined, producing an extraordinary range of decorative and table glass for the French market.
Mix, match and collect! Additional Portieux Vallerysthal turquoise opaline stemware is also available at Curated by Ms. H.
