A sculptural valet chair based on hans j. Wegner's celebrated "valet chair" model, originally designed in 1953.
the piece is crafted from white lacquered wood with brass fittings and revives the ingenious multifunctional concept of the valet chair, conceived as a combination of seat and traditional valet stand.
the backrest features the characteristic coat hanger-like silhouette designed to hold a jacket, while the sculpted seat and wooden frame create a composition with a striking graphic and sculptural presence. Its fluid lines and the integration of function and form directly evoke the language of mid-20th-century scandinavian modernism.
wegner's original model was initially produced by johannes hansen under the reference jh540 and later by pp møbler as pp250, becoming one of the danish designer's most ingenious and recognizable creations.
this piece bears no manufacturer's marks or labels and is not offered as an original hans j. Wegner design, but rather as a later interpretation based on his well-known 1953 design.
it is in good overall condition. The white lacquer finish is intact, with signs of use and minor losses, primarily on the edges, seat, and areas of wear, consistent with its age.
