Each rectangular wooden plaque features an arrangement of intricately tied white rope knots, mounted against a richly stained wood background and framed by substantial twisted-rope borders.

The first board features five examples of decorative and functional sailor's knots surrounding an engraved illustration of a three-masted sailing ship. Its companion displays five additional ropework arrangements alongside an engraved coastal lighthouse and small boat. Together, the contrasting maritime scenes and carefully arranged knots create a handsome, cohesive pair of nautical wall decorations.
