The substantial square vessel has softly rounded corners and a sculptural raised base embellished with repeating geometric arches. Molded vertical detailing gives the exterior additional texture, while the glossy glaze graduates from deep chocolate brown to moss and olive green along the rim.

The combination of earthy coloration, strong geometric form, and richly varied glaze gives the piece a distinctly Mid-Century American studio-pottery aesthetic. Its generous square proportions make it equally attractive as a planter or as a decorative ceramic vessel displayed on a console, bookshelf, coffee table, or credenza.
