The vase is finished in a rich green glaze with a dramatic dark green-black textured treatment concentrated around the upper body and flared rim. The irregular raised surface gives the glaze an organic, almost volcanic quality that contrasts beautifully with the cleaner glazed lower body.

Its tapered rectangular silhouette and broad flared mouth give the piece a distinctly sculptural Mid-Century Modern presence. Beautiful displayed alone as an art pottery object or incorporated into a collection of vintage American ceramics.

Marked McCoy on the underside.

Made in the United States.
