This vintage majolica water lily pitcher presents a compact, softly tapered silhouette, with a pinched pouring spout and a sturdy, angular strap handle that rises from the shoulder to the rim. Crafted from ceramic in the classic Victorian majolica tradition, the body is molded in bold relief with a pond-side scene: creamy white water lilies with golden-orange centers float above overlapping lily pads in layered olive, moss, and chartreuse, each pad incised with branching dark veins. Tall, feathery reeds in deep emerald and teal rise along either side, while pointed, arched leaf forms in the upper body add a delicate, Gothic-like rhythm. The glossy glaze is a luminous turquoise-aqua across the ground, pooling to deeper teal in the recesses and warming to a mustard-olive band at the base. Fine, age-related crazing threads through the glaze, adding a soft, mellowed depth. The handle echoes the aqua ground, with small touches of wear that speak to long use. Fresh, tactile, and full of garden charm, the pitcher feels like a small, glazed pond scene brought to the table.
Place this pitcher on a kitchen shelf, sideboard, breakfast table, or open hutch, or use it as a vase for garden flowers, herbs, or soft greenery. It complements Victorian, Cottage, Grandmillennial, Coastal, and Farmhouse interiors. To care for it, hand wash gently with mild soap and warm water, avoid soaking, dishwashers, and sudden temperature changes, and dry thoroughly; due to the crazing and edge chips, it is best suited to decorative or dry display use. The pitcher measures 4 inches (102 mm) wide, 4.75 inches (121 mm) deep, and 6.25 inches (159 mm) high. Condition is very good, with vibrant original glaze, minor age-appropriate crazing, light surface wear, and small chips along the base edge, and it remains structurally sound with no visible repairs.
