The long plank seat rests above an architectural apron finished in beautifully worn blue-green paint, with distinctive carved cloud scroll brackets at each end adding an elegant decorative element to the otherwise simple form. Generations of use have softened both the wood and painted surface, revealing layers of color, exposed grain, worn edges, and the rich patina that makes antique Chinese furniture so distinctive.

At 74 inches long, this substantial bench provides generous seating while maintaining a relatively narrow profile. It works beautifully in an entryway, along a dining table, at the foot of a bed, or as a sculptural accent beneath artwork. The combination of rustic elm, old painted surface, and graceful carved details makes it especially appealing in Santa Fe, farmhouse, boho chic, mountain modern, or eclectic contemporary interiors.
