The simple rectangular top rests on slender legs joined by traditional horizontal stretchers, reflecting the practical construction and understated beauty of Chinese country furniture. Generations of use have given the elm a warm, weathered surface, with visible grain, worn edges, natural color variations, and the wonderful irregularities that give old wood its distinctive character.

Its compact proportions make this an especially versatile piece for an entryway, hallway, or smaller living space. It can also serve as a small writing table, side table, or display surface for pottery and collected objects. The clean silhouette and naturally aged elm work beautifully in Santa Fe, farmhouse, mountain modern, minimalist, or contemporary interiors.
