This vintage green glazed ceramic vase presents a classic baluster silhouette, with a full, swelling shoulder that tapers gracefully to a narrow foot and rises to a short, softly flared neck. Crafted from ceramic, the body is thrown with fine, closely spaced horizontal throwing lines that give the surface a subtle, brushed texture and a quiet sense of movement. The glossy glaze shifts across a lush spectrum of color, from deep emerald and forest green at the neck and base to lighter moss and apple green across the belly, with feathery, streaked variations where the glaze has pooled and thinned. Warm olive and golden undertones glow through the thinner passages, adding depth and a watery luminosity. The rim is finished with a slim, silvery metallic band that frames the opening with a crisp, polished edge. A slightly flared foot ring, thick with pooled glaze, anchors the form with a satisfying, hand-thrown weight. Light scuffs and gentle surface irregularities lend the piece an honest, well-loved character. Stately yet earthy, the vase feels like a piece of garden foliage rendered in glass-like ceramic.
Place this vase on a floor beside a fireplace or sofa, on a console, sideboard, or dining table, or in an entry, filled with branches, tall grasses, or flowering stems, or left alone as a sculptural accent. It complements Traditional, Organic Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Mediterranean, and Cottage interiors. To care for it, dust with a soft dry cloth, wipe gently with a lightly dampened cloth, and avoid abrasive cleaners, soaking, and sudden temperature changes to protect the glaze and metallic rim. The vase measures 8.75 inches (222 mm) wide, 8.75 inches (222 mm) deep, and 16 inches (406 mm) high. Condition is very good, with a vibrant glaze, a consistent patina, minor surface irregularities, light scuffs, and no visible chips or cracks. Add this striking piece to your collection today.
