Fashioned from cork over a wood armature, the body is built from patchworked panels and plates whose seams and fine cracks trace across the torso and flanks like an ancient, mended fresco. The bearded head is carved with a finely modeled face beneath a thick, braided coil of hair, and a heavy, rope-like braided tail sweeps down in a powerful counter-curve that balances the pose.
