The upper section of a bookcase, it can be placed on a piece of furniture or hung on the wall, serving as a display cabinet in a living room, study, or kitchen.

materials: cherry, walnut, and pine. Glazing with curved muntins and original bubble glass. Brass lock.

features: the arched glass doors, framed by delicate, semicircular muntins, open to reveal three shelves mounted on adjustable runners. The original bubble glass gives the front its antique sheen; only one pane has been replaced. The molded walnut veneer cornice and harmonious proportions reflect the english taste of the mid-19th century. The cabinet locks.

restoration: this english display cabinet has been sanded inside and out. It has also been carefully cleaned and then protected with wax.

condition: the display cabinet is in superb condition. Note that three of the glass panes (in the upper section) are cracked but still sound (see photos).

interior: w103 x d26 x h101 cm.
