An exceptional neoclassical-style drink table attributed to Theodore Alexander, showcasing elaborate craftsmanship, classical detailing, and a rich, antiqued finish.
This distinctive table features an octagonal-cornered rectangular top with what appears to be a richly patinated, tooled leather surface, embellished with gilt decorative borders and a delicate central star motif. The warm brown finish displays beautiful tonal variations, lending the piece a sophisticated, Old World character.
Four sculptural lion-head mounts accentuate the corners, each supporting intricately detailed twisted rope swags and hanging tassels. The slender, tapered legs feature elegant vertical fluting and terminate in finely carved lion-paw feet, reinforcing the table’s classical inspiration.
A particularly desirable feature is the pair of opposing pull-out drink slides, each fitted with a recessed brass-toned cup holder. These cleverly integrated extensions provide additional functionality without compromising the table’s elegant proportions.
Perfectly suited as an occasional table, accent table, or sophisticated drinks table beside a lounge chair or sofa. Its architectural detailing and compact proportions make it an outstanding addition to a traditional, Regency-inspired, or thoughtfully curated eclectic interior.
