Raised clusters of foliage contrast with the smooth, reddish-brown wood panel, possibly rosewood, while a recessed black frame gives the composition depth.

Created by Gerd Scharrelmann in his San Francisco studio, Sculpture 70, circa early 1970s. Retains the maker’s paper label reading “Handmade by Gerd Scharrelmann / Sculpture 70.” The reverse additionally bears the incised inscription “Seidel ’72,” of undetermined significance.

Dimensions: 8⅜ inches wide × 6⅜ inches high × 1⅝ inches deep.

Condition: Good vintage condition with aged metal patina and minor surface wear. The black frame shows scattered scuffs and small finish losses, particularly along the edges and corners. See less
