The writing table incorporates five drawers, comprising two drawers to either side and a larger central drawer. Each retains its brass handles, providing an attractive contrast against the warm tones of the oak while offering generous storage for stationery, correspondence and other essentials. The desk is raised upon finely turned legs united by substantial supporting stretchers, creating a strong and stable construction while contributing to its traditional architectural character. Accompanying the table is a coordinating oak stool, similarly constructed with turned legs and supporting stretchers. The seat is upholstered in a soft sage-toned fabric, providing a subtle contrast against the golden oak while offering comfortable seating. The oak displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout, complemented by warm honey and golden tones that give the set considerable character. Both pieces are solidly constructed and presented in very good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use. A particularly versatile ensemble suitable as a writing desk, dressing table or sophisticated home workspace within traditional, country-house or contemporary interiors.
