The chandelier is constructed around an imposing Empire-inspired central frame with six sweeping arms, each terminating in an original shallow dish-form Ezan moulded opalescent glass shade. The glass displays the distinctive translucent, iridescent quality associated with French Art Deco lighting, producing subtle blue-white and amber reflections depending upon the surrounding light. Particularly striking are the numerous hand-moulded opalescent glass stalactites, arranged around the six lower arms and across two graduated upper tiers. These cascading glass elements give the chandelier an exceptionally sculptural appearance and create dramatic movement throughout the composition. A substantial two-tier drum-shaped central body anchors the design and terminates in a decorative lower finial, while the upper structure rises to a large conical ceiling canopy with its original hanging fixture. The combination of geometric architecture, cascading glass and luminous opalescence makes this an outstanding example of decorative French lighting from the Art Deco period. Its substantial proportions make it particularly well suited to a grand entrance hall, dining room, reception space or sophisticated contemporary interior.
