The vase is distinguished by its characterful crackle glaze, creating an intricate network of fine lines across the porcelain surface and giving the piece considerable visual depth and texture. This naturally decorative surface beautifully complements the substantial proportions and traditional Chinese form. Its generously scaled body rises to a pronounced neck and flared rim, creating an elegant and imposing silhouette. At approximately 60 cm high, the vase has considerable decorative presence and would work particularly well displayed on a pedestal, substantial console or sideboard. Dating to circa 1850–1899, the vase represents an attractive example of late Qing dynasty Chinese decorative porcelain. The vase retains authentic signs of its considerable age. A section of the upper rim has previously been chipped, reglued and restored, with a couple of additional minor chips to the base. Otherwise, the piece remains in good antique condition. A substantial and highly decorative example of 19th-century Chinese porcelain, combining impressive scale, traditional craftsmanship and the distinctive character of an aged crackle glaze.
