The substantial rounded bowl features an attractive frosted ground overlaid with rich burgundy decoration depicting oak leaves, branches and foliage sweeping organically around the exterior. The contrasting layers create a wonderful sense of depth and texture, particularly when illuminated. The bowl is raised upon a sculptural stem and decorative metal-mounted base, giving the piece an elegant elevated profile and considerable presence as a table centrepiece. The flowing botanical imagery and emphasis on natural forms reflect the prevailing French Art Nouveau aesthetic of the period. Equally suited to a traditional or contemporary interior, it would make an impressive centrepiece for a dining table, console, sideboard or display cabinet. Condition: Good antique condition overall with age-related wear consistent with its period. Please refer to the photographs for full condition and decorative detail.
