The vase follows the classic Yen Yen silhouette, characterised by a rounded lower body rising through a slender waist into a tall, dramatically flared trumpet-shaped neck. This distinctive profile has been admired in Chinese ceramics for centuries and gives the piece an impressive sculptural quality. A deep monochromatic blue glaze covers the porcelain, allowing subtle variations in tone, surface and reflected light to become the principal decorative feature. Without elaborate painted ornamentation, particular emphasis is placed on the purity of the form and richness of the glaze. Standing 41 cm high, the vase has substantial decorative presence while remaining versatile enough for display on a console, sideboard, cabinet or pedestal. Its restrained colour palette also allows it to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors. The vase is presented in good condition with general age-related wear and character. A sophisticated example of Chinese decorative porcelain, combining a celebrated traditional form with the striking simplicity of a monochrome blue glaze.
