Each pepperette … Read more A fine pair of antique sterling silver pepperettes, of elegant plain domed form and possibly of **American origin**. Each pepperette features a neatly pierced cover fitted with a **threaded screw fastening**, allowing it to close securely. The restrained bodies are raised upon stepped circular bases, giving the pair a balanced and traditional profile. Both pieces are marked **“Sterling”** together with the maker’s mark **“L Brothers.”** While the exact origin has not been established, the form of the silver marking suggests they may be American. Crafted entirely in sterling silver, the pair has a **combined net silver weight of approximately 42.5 grams**. Both pepperettes are presented in very good original condition. There are no noted bruises, damage or repairs, and they remain free from engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. The threaded covers fit securely and function correctly.
