The generously proportioned rectangular top provides an excellent surface for a lamp, books or decorative objects while showcasing the attractive natural grain and figuring of the walnut. The table is raised upon finely turned legs, creating a graceful and traditional silhouette. A substantial lower shelf provides additional space for books, magazines or decorative objects while contributing to the balanced architectural character of the design. The legs terminate in their original brass castors, an attractive period detail that allows the table to be repositioned with relative ease. Particularly appealing is the walnut itself, displaying pronounced natural figuring throughout, complemented by rich, warm tones and a pleasing aged character. Solidly constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A versatile and elegant piece suitable as a side table, lamp table, occasional table or decorative display table within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
