Of circular form, the dish is framed by a decorative gadrooned serpentine border enriched with applied scallop shells, swags and stylised motifs. The combination of classical ornamentation and polished silver gives the piece an elegant and highly decorative appearance. The broad dish is raised upon a pedestal stem leading to a circular stepped base. The base features a wrapped-over construction, a traditional silversmithing technique used to provide additional strength and rigidity. Fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1965 and crafted entirely in sterling silver, the piece has a substantial net silver weight of approximately 311.2 grams. Presented in very good vintage condition with only minor age-related surface marks. There are no noted bruises, splits, holes, damage or repairs, and the piece remains free from later inscriptions or monograms. The silver retains a beautiful bright patina and is clean and ready for use or display. Antique German silver Tazza / Fruit bowl.
