The bookcase features multiple spacious open shelves, providing extensive room for displaying books, decorative objects, ceramics, collections and other treasured pieces. The lower four shelves are fully adjustable, allowing the internal configuration to be easily adapted to accommodate books and objects of varying heights. This practical versatility makes the bookcase particularly suitable for use within a library, study, living room or office. Its restrained and well-balanced design allows the natural beauty of the walnut to take centre stage. The timber displays particularly attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and appealing tonal variation throughout. The bookcase stands on a substantial plinth base, providing a strong and stable foundation while enhancing the solid and commanding appearance of the piece. Very well made and of good quality, the bookcase demonstrates excellent craftsmanship throughout. Its substantial construction and carefully considered proportions provide both durability and considerable visual presence. Despite its generous 155 cm width and 172.5 cm height, the relatively shallow 23 cm depth makes the bookcase particularly practical, providing substantial display and storage capacity without projecting excessively into the room. The combination of adjustable shelving, richly coloured walnut, generous proportions and a simple open design makes this an especially versatile and desirable piece of furniture. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly desirable large walnut open bookcase combining excellent storage capacity, quality craftsmanship and beautifully figured timber within an elegant and timeless design.
