The substantial upper section features a pair of elegant glazed doors opening to reveal eight fully adjustable shelves, providing extensive and versatile display space for books, decorative objects, porcelain or a collection. The lower section incorporates a pair of beautifully figured blind cupboard doors, opening to reveal two further internal shelves and providing generous concealed storage. The striking figuring of the mahogany across the doors creates a particularly attractive focal point. Raised upon a substantial plinth base, the bookcase has an imposing yet beautifully balanced architectural presence. The mahogany displays a rich, warm colour and pronounced natural grain throughout, enhanced by a well-developed patina. The substantial weight and construction reflect the quality of the cabinetmaking, while the adjustable shelving makes the piece particularly practical for modern use. Presented in excellent antique condition and accompanied by a fully functioning key. For ease of transportation and installation, the bookcase separates into two sections.
