The table incorporates four useful drawers arranged as one larger drawer above three smaller drawers, providing an unusual and particularly practical combination of storage within its compact form. Each drawer retains its original brass handles and fittings, adding authentic period character while complementing the rich tones of the mahogany. Particularly impressive is the quality of the timber, displaying beautifully figured mahogany grain with considerable depth, movement and warm colour throughout. The polished surface highlights the natural figuring of the wood and gives the piece an elegant, refined appearance from every angle. The table is raised upon four graceful cabriole legs, whose flowing curves provide an attractive contrast to the architectural drawer arrangement above. This classically inspired form gives the piece a refined Georgian-revival character typical of high-quality English furniture produced during the early decades of the 20th century.
