The impressive upper section is extensively glazed and fitted with two glass shelves, creating three generously proportioned display levels. These provide an elegant setting for presenting glassware, ceramics, objets d’art, collectibles or other treasured decorative pieces while allowing them to remain clearly visible and protected. Below, a blind-door cupboard opens to reveal an internal shelf, providing useful concealed storage and giving the cabinet an excellent balance between presentation and everyday practicality. Particularly appealing is the cabinet's unusual shaped front, which gives the substantial piece a distinctive and elegant profile. This decorative treatment adds considerably more visual interest than a conventional rectangular display cabinet while retaining a refined and traditional appearance. Throughout, the mahogany displays particularly attractive figuring and pronounced natural grain, complemented by a deep, warm colour and established patina that highlight the quality and character of the timber. The cabinet stands upon a substantial plinth base, providing a strong and well-balanced foundation for its impressive 209 cm height. Despite its considerable presence, the proportions remain elegant and harmonious. For ease of transportation and installation, the cabinet separates into two sections, making it considerably more practical to manoeuvre within the home. It is also complete with its key. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. An impressive and highly desirable piece of traditional display furniture, combining richly figured mahogany, an unusual shaped form, extensive glazing, generous display space and practical concealed storage.
