The upper section features a beautifully glazed display area, providing an attractive setting for fine china, glassware, decorative objects or treasured collections. Internally, a single glass shelf creates two generous display levels, with approximately 33 cm of clearance to the upper section and 32 cm to the section below. The striking red-lined interior provides a particularly attractive contrast against the warm mahogany and creates an impressive backdrop for displayed objects. Below the glazed section is a useful blind cupboard with a panelled door, providing additional concealed storage. The lower compartment offers approximately 27 cm of internal height. The cabinet is expertly inlaid with a variety of contrasting woods, creating intricate decorative detail throughout and demonstrating the quality of craftsmanship evident in its construction. Decorative brass mounts and detailing further enrich the design, providing an elegant contrast against the mahogany and enhancing the distinctly French character of the cabinet. The piece stands gracefully on cabriole legs, creating a refined and elegant silhouette while complementing the flowing decorative character of the design. Throughout, the mahogany displays beautiful natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation. The combination of mahogany, contrasting inlay, brass detailing and the red interior gives the cabinet considerable visual depth and decorative presence. At only 68 cm wide and 32 cm deep, the cabinet offers useful display and concealed storage while retaining particularly versatile proportions, making it suitable for a dining room, living room, hallway or study. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly desirable French mahogany display cabinet combining elegant glazed display space, concealed storage, intricate mixed wood inlay, decorative brass mounts and graceful cabriole legs within a sophisticated and timeless design.
