The upper section features a glazed cabinet opening to reveal an internal display shelf, providing an elegant setting for porcelain, glassware, collectibles or objets d'art. Delicate Chippendale-style fretwork enriches the design, demonstrating the quality and attention to detail invested in the cabinetmaking. The cabinet is raised upon refined tapered legs terminating in characteristic spade feet. A useful lower shelf unites the supports, providing additional display space while contributing to the graceful and beautifully balanced silhouette. The mahogany displays pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout, complemented by deep, lustrous colour and a mature patina that enhances the character of the piece. The cabinet retains its key and original fittings and is presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 19th-century origin. Attributed to the renowned cabinetmakers Webb & Co., this is a particularly desirable example of Chippendale Revival furniture. Its tall, relatively compact corner configuration provides substantial decorative presence while making efficient use of otherwise unused space. A sophisticated display cabinet ideally suited to a drawing room, dining room, library or distinguished period interior. Dimensions: Height: 191 cm Width: 82 cm Depth: 51.5 cm See less
