The upper section features a raised gallery above an attractive open bow-front shelf, creating a graceful architectural profile and a useful display area for decorative objects, books or collectibles. Below is a two-door cupboard containing a single internal shelf, providing useful concealed storage while maintaining the cabinet's elegant and compact proportions. The piece retains its original brass handle, adding further authenticity and period character. Fine satinwood and ebony stringing decorates the cabinet throughout, providing an elegant contrast against the richly coloured mahogany. The timber itself displays particularly attractive natural grain, warm tones and beautiful figuring, highlighting the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. The cabinet stands on traditional bracket feet, giving the piece a well-balanced appearance and complementing the refined Edwardian design. At only 25 cm deep, this is an exceptionally versatile piece of furniture, offering both open display and enclosed storage while occupying very little floor space. It would work particularly well in a hallway, drawing room, bedroom, library or other space where a shallow yet decorative cabinet is required. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable example of Edwardian cabinet furniture, combining richly figured mahogany, fine satinwood and ebony stringing, a distinctive bow-front display shelf, original brass hardware and useful cupboard storage within an elegant and unusually shallow design.
