Crafted in Italy circa 1890, the large chandelier features a graceful silhouette with scrolling iron arms arranged around a central stem, creating an impressive display of light and decorative detail.
The elaborate iron framework is embellished with delicate strands of faceted crystal beads, cascading swags, and numerous hanging crystal prisms in teardrop, spear, and pendeloque shapes. Clear crystals are complemented by occasional amber-colored drops, adding warmth and contrast to the composition. The upper section features an elongated glass baluster surrounded by sweeping iron scrolls, while the lower tier supports twelve candle-style lights, each fitted with a white candle sleeve and a scalloped glass bobeche adorned with additional crystal drops.
The chandelier retains a rich, aged metal patina that contrasts beautifully with the brilliance of the crystal ornaments. Its generously proportioned design and intricate decoration reflect the opulence of traditional European lighting, making it an impressive focal point above a dining table, in a grand entryway, or in a formal living room.
The antique chandelier is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful patinated iron finish with sparkling crystal accents. Complete with a hanging chain.
