Its circular form is shaped from richly figured burl, with swirling grain and layered tonal variation that create a distinctive organic pattern across the lid and body. A gracefully turned finial gives the fitted lid an elegant focal point while keeping the box easy to open. The original finish remains deep and lustrous, developing a softly aged patina that highlights the wood’s sculptural character. The compact silhouette offers practical storage for jewelry, keepsakes, correspondence, or other small essentials while reading as a decorative object in its own right. Its Organic Modern character layers easily with ceramics, stone, brass, leather, and woven accents.

Measuring 10 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 5.5 inches high, the box has balanced proportions that make it useful without taking over a surface. The interior is finished in the same burl wood, continuing the piece’s cohesive craftsmanship and providing an attractive presentation when the lid is opened. It is structurally sound and retains its original wood finish, with no visible repairs or losses. Minor surface scuffs and small nicks are present, consistent with age and careful previous use; these subtle marks add authenticity without detracting from the overall appearance. The rich burl pattern, turned lid knob, and rounded profile give this vintage storage box a refined presence, making it a versatile accent for a traditional, eclectic, or modern interior. See less
