The Chinoiserie scenes on this document box are delightful! They are done in gold paint on a black background. The box is made from wood and has a large latch in front that was made to look old. The lid is connected to the base by two hinges that were also made to look old. This box is in good condition with no issues to mention. The Chinese are known for their reproductions of antique furniture and accessories, and this box is a prime example of their ability to make an object look like an antique.
I photographed this document box outside on a sunny afternoon in October. It will invariably look different when viewed in an interior setting under artificial light. Please take this into consideration when matching colors.
