This elegant early 1900s French Louis XVI–style commode combines warm fruitwood, delicate floral marquetry, finely cast bronze mounts, and its original Italian pink marble top. Crafted in Montpellier in the South of France, the piece reflects the balanced proportions and refined neoclassical character associated with Louis XVI furniture.
The commode is constructed from richly toned fruitwood and decorated with floral marquetry inlay across the front and sides. The contrasting woods create depth and visual interest while preserving the clean architectural lines of the case.
Finely detailed bronze mounts complete the design, including decorative drawer pulls, key escutcheons, and ornamental accents. Their warm gold tone complements the fruitwood beautifully and adds a refined classical finish.
The top is fitted with its original Italian pink marble slab, displaying natural veining and subtle tonal variations. The softly colored marble creates an elegant contrast with the golden-brown wood below.
Two wide drawers provide generous storage while maintaining the commode’s graceful proportions. The drawers open smoothly and can be locked using the original working key, which is included.
