While rarely marked by their craftsmen, these tables have both the structural minimalism and premium craftsmanship of mid-century Scandinavian design and are evocative of the Danish master Niels Bach. The construction giveaway is that while operating out of Denmark during the peak mid-century era, the Niels Bach workshop carved out a distinct market niche by focusing on thick, honest timber construction. They stayed true to the traditions of premium Danish furniture workshops. The wide, slab-style legs sweep down to form a continuous, seamless loop sled base that balances a silhouette with a remarkably clean, geometric footprint. The corners feature exceptional carpentry, showcasing prominent exposed finger-joint construction. This serves as both structurally and as a beautiful decorative detail. This versatile pair will function nicely as living room side tables, deep end tables, or low-profile nightstands in an upscale interior. See less
