Gorgeous, vintage, mid-century, coffee / cocktail table with a multi-colored, marble and onyx tabletop, on a rectangular, gilded brass frame, from the 1960s - 1970s.
The tabletop showcases a tessellated design, with a mix of marble and onyx displaying a wide variety of naturally formed and colored stone, ranging from white to warm hues of gold, and greys to browns (see photos.) In contrast with the bright, golden color of the frame, the elegantly sculpted legs and tips, really make this glamorous table a stand-out conversation piece.
The rectangular, gilded brass frame, features a geometric design that's reminiscent of the style of Parisian design house, Maison Jansen, that has two, concave forms on either side of a central, gilded, brass-colored tube that matches the legs, to form an elegant "bow" shape.
Piece remains in very good original condition, with some light signs and marks of usage commensurate with time on the top, as well as some faded color and a patina of time, on the brass structure and legs (see photos.)
- The tabletop has some very light signs of usage. There are 2, miniscule marks of previous usage, on the coating of 2 different edges of the piece (see photos with 1 cent coin for perspective.)
- There is as well, a miniscule mark of previous usage, just underneath 1 corner of the top, that is not really visible to the naked eye when looking at the table, but we thought it was worth disclosing (see photo.)
- The brass structure, is in overall, good, vintage condition, again, with some light marks and signs of age and previous usage commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time (see photos.)
- The leg tips have only been waxed, (not painted), with a protective, brass wax, to enhance and keep it it as close to the original condition as possible.
~Table is sturdy and solid.
~ It has only been gently dusted and polished with respect to the original patina.
- The tabletop is removeable.
A fantastic, timeless piece that will blend perfectly with any given vintage, mid-century, contemporary, classic or regency décor.
